Yarmouth: Duke Of Diamonds
Has deployed a useful turn of foot to win two steadily run contests. With only three rivals we can expect more of the same.
The 6.05 Yarmouth looks a trappy affair but that should suit Duke Of Diamonds. With only four runners lining up for this 2-mile contest don’t expect a strong gallop, with the emphasis on speed.
Duke Of Diamonds has won his last two races and both were steadily run affairs. On each occasion he ran the fastest closing sectional and Shelley Birkett will ride him for a turn of foot again.
The lightly raced 4-year-old is on the upgrade and he should defy a mark of 72 having earned an adjusted speed rating of 79 last time.
Although unproven at 2-miles, his stamina is unlikely to be tested and he can land the hat-trick in another sprint finish.
