Sandown Tips: William’s Wishes

Suffered his first defeat in six chase starts at Exeter last month but not one to right off yet; stable were going through a quiet spell at the time.

Following the absence of Sire De Grugy and Sprinter Sacre, the Tingle Creek (3.00 Sandown) looks wide open and my eye is attracted to the outsiders.

William’s Wishes is largely ignored by the bookmakers but I’m not sure we should be writing him off quite yet.

His first defeat in six chase starts came in the Haldon Cup but he had a couple of excuses that day.

In a small field he didn’t get the strong pace he craves and he might have needed his first run of the season. Considering he was only beaten 11 lengths it wasn’t a terrible effort.
S At the time the Evan Williams yard was going through a quiet spell with just 1 winner from their first 28 runners in November.

Things have picked up since then with the stable going 5/19 in the last ten days of November.

William’s Wishes had a good spin over hurdles last time out only beaten 12.5 lengths by The New One.

He is a previous course and distance winner and is overpriced at 20/1.
