Wetherby Tips: Winterval

Winterval ran an excellent race on his seasonal reappearance and is the type of horse to go onto bigger and better things.

At Nottingham he finished 0.25 lengths behind Ice Slice but lost nothing in defeat. The winner enjoyed the run of the race, setting a steady pace (106.2% finishing speed) and sprinting to the line.

Having won over 10f last season, Winterval could have done with a more thorough test of stamina but he still ran the fastest closing sectional by 0.29s and earned an impressive adjusted speed rating of 97.

For the 7.50 Wetherby he steps up to 10f and Roger Varian should be able to improve this horse beyond his rating of 82.
