Ascot Tips: Dutch Law
Won over course and distance four weeks ago earning a whopping sectional adjusted speed rating of 108. Still well treated off 99.
After his second place at Ascot in July, Pat Smullen said Dutch Law felt like a Group horse making him potentially thrown in off a mark of 99.
You generally should take comments by connections with a pinch of salt, especially immediately after a race but time figures suggest Smullen might be onto something.
Adjusting for pace, I gave Dutch Law a speed rating of 108 for his September Ascot win, which makes him Group 2/3 class. The 4-year-old has done nothing but improve all season and his only defeat in his last four starts was when tackling 8f.
Charlie Bennett has struck up an excellent rapport with the horse finishing 2131. Having won over course and distance four weeks ago, he should be amongst the favourites to repeat.
