Semi Disappointing

Two of the last three games between these sides have ended 0-0 and this one could go a similar way. Arsenal must fear the away goal whereas Chelsea lack a fit striker they trust.

The second semi-final in the EFL Cup looks bound to be settled by the finest of margins after the 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago.

Neither the 5/4 available on Arsenal qualifying or the 8/11 on Chelsea progressing particularly appealing. Instead I will back under 1.5 goals in the match at a best price of 3/1 with WilliamHill.

It wasn’t just the first leg which ended 0-0, that was also the scoreline when the sides met in their first league meeting back in September. Yes it was 2-2 in the game in the middle but there are reasons to think this one will be another tight occasion.

Away goals count double so the Gunners are in big trouble if the Blues score first. They need to adopt a relatively cautious approach with that in mind.

For Chelsea there will be no Morata or Fabregas with Conte indicating that he won’t start Batshuayi either. This could leave the visitors without a recognised striker and over-reliant on Hazard and Willian as attacking threats.

A 1-0 away win is certainly something they could achieve and again that result either way would deliver us a tip win.
