Claiming The Braga Rights

Mitroglou has a good record against Braga but over the two legs the Portuguese side are capable of upsetting the odds in this Europa League clash.

A half-decent French side is always going to wind up favourite to beat a half-decent Portuguese outfit but that doesn’t mean the bookies are correct.

Braga are 11/5 underdogs with Ladbrokes to qualify from their last 32 clash in the Europa League with Marseille but they could upset the apple cart.

The Primeira Liga team won home and away to Hoffenheim in the group stages and qualified top of Group C. Their only away defeat in European competition in their last seven came after qualification to the knockout phase was already secured.

In contrast Marseille made a meal of progressing despite the mediocre fare in Group I in which they finished runners-up (W2 D2 L2). Losing to minnows Vitoria Guimaraes was a low point, drawing with Konyaspor not much better.

Braga reached the final of this competition in 2011 and have realistic hopes of making the last 16 this time.
